Question:
Can someone explain what is type 2 diabetes please?
Answer:
Diabetes mellitus means 'lots of sweet urine'. Type 2 diabetics are
usually diagnosed in adulthood, around middle age. They produce insulin,
but it doesn't work because the molecules that it is supposed to attach to
don't function like they should.
Type 1 diabetics don't produce enough insulin in the first place. Often
occurs in children.
It's a disease of lifestyle, and is treated best with lifestyle
modifications.
