Question:
Can anyone confirm that "DBM de type II" in my source text would refer to
"type II diabetes"? dbm = diabetes? I would assume that in English this remains DBM.
Answer:
the typing has nothing to do with the state of hyperglycaemia.
Diabetes mellitus (DM) type I and II are quite seperate diseases:
Type I is called "Juvenile onset DM", and simplified is a hypoinsulinaemia.
Type II WAS called "Maturity onset DM, but in fact can start at any age,
and simplified and primarily is a insuline resistance disease.
These "definitions" are not static, but change with the state of science.
