what definition you use with Type I and Type II Diabetes?

Question:
Does anyone know if the possibility that one person can have both Type I and Type II Diabetes has ever been researched? what definition you use?

Answer:
I guess it depends on what definition you use: Type 1 - Insulin Dependent Type 2 - Non-Insulin Dependent or Type 1 - Pancreas doesn't function Type 2 - Pancreas does function, but insulin produced isn't adequate or Type 1 - Juvenile Diabetes Type 2 - Adult Onset Diabetes If we could all agree on what Type 1 and Type 2 are, then probably we could answer this question. Personally, I would prefer to get rid of the type and just call the whole thing Diabetes and leave it at that. I know when I mention to people that I am diabetic, their first question is always "Do I have to take insulin?" When I respond in the negative, their usual reaction is, "Oh, then you don't have it too bad then." (add this to the list of myths). I then have to spend several minutes educating them.
