What is insulin-like growth factor?

Question:
I have just started to use my new training/nutrition-software "BodyCraft", where IGF 33 (a brand name of Insulin-like Growth Factor?) is recommended as preworkout supplement. I have newer heard about it, and neither have the drugstores. I looked it up in an encyclopedia, getting the fact that IGF is a part of Colostrum (that here in Norway means "raw milk from just_got_a_baby mothers"). Hardly a commodity. What is insulin-like growth factor? Is it "any good"? Is it harmless? Is it expensive? Where do I get it?

Answer:
Somebody stop me if I'm wrong, but i believe that Insulin like growth factor is a hormone released secondary to insulin. It is the hormone that REALLY controls the muscle growth factor when you are hoping for that slow release of insulin from that last post workout feeding. As soon as i heard about it, i was waiting for some (or many) of the sleazier supplement factories to start pumping out something that would resemble it in initial looks. Lo and behold.
