I'm trying not to be a hypochondriac.

Question:
I'm trying not to be a hypochondriac. I am wondering about hypoglycemia and diabetes. I am overweight by alot and I have not been eating right. I am ready to make changes in my diet. I am really ready to make the commitment to losing the weight. I wonder about my blood sugar because every morning I wake up feeling queasy and a bit "off". I eat a banana and that seems to help. And then throughout the day, it is either episodes of queasiness/nausea or diarrhea. Mostly diarrhea and lower abdominal cramps, but often enough it is a queasy feeling. I am going to the doctor to ask if I may be in the beginning stages of diabetes. Can you tell me any good questions I should ask him? Anything you think I should be aware of? I also take Synthroid .125, and that is checked regularly.

Answer:
Jeanie, what you describe doesn't sound like diabetes, but some people do develop A-typical symptoms so having a blood test may be a wise precaution. And I'd ask for the whole works - liver function etc.

Queasiness/nausea are common symptoms of anxiety, diarrhea, less so. But they can also be triggered by some meds, or other factors, so get, especially the diarrhea and abdominal pains, checked.

BTW-could the diarrhea/abdominal pains, be ovary related? Just a thought.
