Question:
Being a vegetarian, not sure where to control my food. Usually start the
day with coffee with milk and bagel+cream chesse. Later, a banana and
afternoon pasta. In late afternoon a fruit or yogurt and in the evening
pasta or rice or bread with some vegetables. If I cut down on pasta
anymore, I am just hungry! My fitness instructor says to drink water before
every meal!! Never tried though.
Can someone recommed a good vegetarian diet for diabetes?
Answer:
There are vegetarians who eat fish and eggs and cheese, Do you eat that ?
I dont see any protein in your diet and that is why you are hungry,
You need to add protein, the diet you are eating is a diabetics worse
nightmare, All carbs and no protein and high carbs, Are you testing
with your meter to see the effect of an all carb diet.
If you are a vegan, there are other things to eat, cheeses made from
soy, for example. There are vegans here who I am sure can put you on a
path, I know you are a vegetarian, but what is worse , being blind or
eating a piece of chicken, That choice is yours, You are eating a diet
of carbs and that can cause lots of complications.
good luck and I hope you find a path that will work for you and keep you
healthy.
