Question:
Has anybody ever heard of somebody getting adult onset diabetes -- that is
not at all overweight (skinny, even) and in good general health?
Answer:
Type 1: Produces no, or very little, insulin Also Insulin Dependent DM
Type 2: Produces insulin, Likely more than needed, However either the insulin
or the processing (receptors) are defective or deficient thus there is
resistance to the insulin, Also called either Non Insulin Dependent
Diabetes Mellitus and/or Insulin REQUIRING Diabetes Mellitus. as some
of them use Diet/Exercise, Some orals and Some (IE: ME) insulin
Type 3: Type 1 plus type 2 equals type 3 (Also called 1 1/2)
Type 1.5 (1+2)/2 (Average 1 and 2) = 1.5 Same as type 3
